We are seeking an experienced and visionary professional ready to embrace a new challenge as our Marketing & Social Media Specialist.

As Marketing & Social Media Specialist, you’ll implement our marketing strategies and manage our social media platforms, ensuring our storytelling and communication with our customers is on brand and premium. You’ll report into the Marketing Manager and work with multiple teams within Connings Food Market and Connings Market Garden.
This pivotal role is hands-on, varied and requires a unique blend of creativity, design, content and copywriting expertise, excellent relationship management skills, and a passion for quality food.
It is a flexible position, with approximately 20 hours per week, but based in our main Appleby store.

Create, curate, and manage high-quality content for all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook)
Plan and schedule posts using social media management tools
Monitor and analyse campaign performance using analytics tools; adjust strategies based on performance data.
Design and coordinate in-store signage, displays, and promotional materials to align with marketing campaigns and enhance the customer experience.
Engage with the online community, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and authentic manner.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., produce, grocery, Kitchen, Market Garden) to ensure brand consistency across all channels.
Manage paid advertising campaigns, including social media ads optimising for ROI.
Stay up to date with digital marketing trends, tools, platform updates, and industry best practices.
Manage and update website content to ensure accuracy, brand consistency, and optimal user experience, including landing pages, blog posts, and promotional banners.

We’re looking for someone who is:
A creative thinker with a sharp eye for visual content and engaging storytelling.
At least 3 years of experience in marketing, social media, or a related field.
Fluent on Instagram, Facebook.
Experienced in creating compelling, on-brand social media content tailored to different platforms and audiences.
Experienced using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, or Hootsuite (or similar).
Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with a tone that adapts to different audiences.
Data-savvy — comfortable interpreting analytics and using insights to guide content and strategy.
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
A self-starter who’s comfortable taking initiative but also a team player who thrives on collaboration.
A basic understanding of SEO and how it connects to content strategy and website updates.
Bonus points if you’ve worked with email marketing platforms, influencer campaigns, or e-commerce tools.
