This is a hands-on role in the heart of Connings Food Market, where our café sits surrounded by fresh fruits and vegetables—many of which are harvested daily from Connings farm, just down the road. This unique supply chain allows us to offer the freshest, highest-quality ingredients in everything we serve.

As Café Manager, you’ll lead our team in creating an exceptional experience for every customer— ensuring they leave with a perfect brew and a nourished puku. You’ll work closely with Connings chefs to ensure our cabinet selection is always vibrant, seasonal, and showcases the very best of our produce.

• Take charge of the café’s daily operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly

• Lead, support, and inspire our front-of-house team

• Set the standard for outstanding customer service

• Uphold food safety and hygiene standards

• Assist with staff rosters, training, and development

• Handle essential admin tasks, including cash handling and reporting

• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage stock levels

• Foster a positive, welcoming café culture and drive sales

• Experience in café, restaurant, or hospitality management

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Proven customer service and problem-solving abilities

• Adaptable to changing schedules and situations

• Barista experience

• Detail-oriented with a passion for high quality presentation

• Organised and reliable, with the ability to manage time, prioritise, and multitask under pressure
